I created an inner voice that I now understand as protection -
a response to rejection and abandonment.

It seeks control. Structured, rigid, and highly self-critical.

When it takes over, everything narrows. Thoughts become ordered, contained, and sharp - but at a cost.

The tree is confined by harsh lines and opposing tones, held in place by something that both protects and restricts.
